About The Artist
Charlie Barton is a contemporary artist from Baltimore, MD who produces hand-pulled limited edition silk screen prints on masonite. Raised by two architects, Charlie is instinctively drawn to urban landscapes and architectural subject matters as well as the decay of environments and their physical structures.
Charlie draws on his training as a garment printer, combined with a college degree in photography and studies in graphic design. He strives to produce work that is both accessible and evokes nostalgia in the viewer. Much of his work plays with a tension between masculine and feminine energies -- juxtaposing hard angles and industrial subjects with soft damask patterns. To place extra emphasis on vertical and horizontal subject matter, Charlie's prints follow a non-standard aspect ratio - 1:2 rather than the traditional 3:4.
We build custom hand welded steel frames in house.
Introducing my new hand made premium metal frames. These durable frames feature welded corners and functional bolts that hold the art in place. This truly is a unique frame that adds value and industrial charm to the artwork.
